Grippers
Gripper must be laid all around the perimeter of the room, the distance between the gripper and the skirting board depends upon the pile thickness of the carpet (the thicker the carpet the wider the gap). On the stairs one gripper is laid on the tread with pins laid towards the back and the other on the riser with the pins pointing downwards at the rear of the stair - once again the spacing between will be dependent upon the thickness of the carpet. We at Supreme Carpets pay particular attention to ensuring safety especially on stairs.
Underlay
Our underlay range starts at 4.99 sq. yd (5.97 sq. m) for a quality rubber underlay up to 15.99 (£19.12 sq. m) for a premium quality underlay. Obviously the better quality of underlay the more life you will get out of your carpet.
Seaming
All our hessian backed carpets are seamed with a heating iron - the tape is laid under the join and welded together. Dependent upon the pile of the carpet the join will not be seen. Heat seaming is the best type of join, if never lifts or frays - even when you have your carpets cleaned the water does not lift the seam.
Door bars
As from the picture above you can see we stock a large range of door bars for carpet, vinyl and laminate.
When fitting a door bar place it centrally under the door so that when the door is closed only the carpet will show giving it a professional finish.
We also do a Door Easing service enabling the door to glide smoothly over the carpet. Your doors do not have to be removed, with our special saw it follows the level of the floor giving a perfect finish saving you the inconvenience of having to either remove the door yourself or pay for a carpenter. There is a nominal charge for this service if required.
Whipping
Whipping gives your left over carpet or remnant a finished edge which will not fray. Turn your new (or old) carpet remnant into matching mats with our whipping service, simply bring your remnant instore with your required sizes. Turnaround time approximately 1 week.
